1970s Jaeger LeCoultre Master Mariner Ref. 563-42

LeCoultre introduced the Master Mariner Collection in 1958, celebrating the maison’s 125th anniversary, and the model has been offered through the decades in many variations. This Master Mariner features a funky hammerhead-shaped case, surprisingly comfortable on the wrist.

The present reference 563-42 is a lovely example, and representative of the model in its most 1970s inspiration aesthetic format, so recognizable that obtained the nickname of Hammerhead. The bi-tone silver-blue dial perfectly combines round and rectangular shapes and remains nicely preserved, as well as the case and JLC bracelet.

Produced in a limited scale, the present JLC Master Mariner ‘Hammerhead’ is preserved in overall great condition and it’s a rare and fine watch for connoisseurs of vintage timepieces.
