1970s Heuer Chronograph Ref. 73473 With Tropical Dial

Mechanical chronographs and motorsports are two disciplines masterfully combined by Heuer, and in the 70s the Swiss watch brand was the Official Timekeeper of ‘Scuderia Ferrari’. The Heuer Ref. 73473 was introduced in the early 1970s and to our best knowledge it was offered in three different dial configurations: ‘panda’ dial, ‘reverse panda’ dial and a rare full blue dial.

The case measures 38mm and it’s powered by the Heuer-Leonidas Valjoux 7734 caliber – also housed in the Autavia chronograph - but the best part of is the patina on the dial. The once-blue dial now has a rich tobacco brown colour, and the lume on the dial also has aged a lion’s orange color, matching the dial patina.

The present chronograph wristwatch shines amongst the lights of the early 1970s Ref. 73473 examples due to its wonderful dial, Heuer stainless steel bracelet and great condition.
