An elegant, beautiful, vintage watch from our Jaeger-LeCoultre Collection. Right from the 1833, Antoine LeCoultre has been a professional dealer in the manufacturing of pinions. In 1866 the company started to produce their own movements, and never stop to innovate the industry of watchmaking.
The LeCoultre Futurematic happens to be a groundbreaking wristwatch when it was released in the early 1950s. The 497 automatic caliber is powered by a bumper rotor and LeCoultre designed the crown under the watch, an unconventional feature that sets this watch apart from the competition. ‘SLIDE – DO NOT LIFT’ says the written of the crown, informing the collector the crown is meant to set the time but not to wind the watch.
The 10Kt gold-filled case gives the wristwatch a classic and elegant look and instead of a plated case, it ensures durability. The watch was only in production for a short period of time, between 1951 and 1958. It was soon discontinued because of the high investments made by LeCoultre to introduce the new movement.
If you are looking for a vintage LeCoultre watch with a legendary and freshly serviced movement, the Futurematic is a must-have for any collector and enthusiast. Discover more timepieces available in the Vintage Watch Leader Dress Watch Selection.
