1970s Movado El Primero Ref. 01.0180.434 With Original Box

In 1968 Movado joined forces with Zenith and on 10 January 1969 Movado-Zenith were first to announce an automatic chronograph movement, the ‘El Primero’. This was the movement that set the company apart featuring stunning design, 36000 A/h (operating at 10Hz) and a self-winding mechanism on a chronograph.

The Movado reference 01.0180.434 was produced in small numbers with around 500 examples estimated. In fact, it is one of the rarest production chronograph model that the firm produced in the 1970s. The reference was offered in two movement and three dial variations with ‘Movado’, ‘Zenith’ or ‘Movado-Zenith’ sign.

Exceptionally rare and fresh-to-the-market, this chronograph was hardly worn and remains in superb overall condition, with a sharp bezel and defined lugs. Complete with its original cylindrical box, this is a fantastic opportunity to own a timepiece that is part of Movado’s history.
