1970s Universal Genève Polerouter Day Date Ref. 872101

The Polerouter was launched in 1954 and it was the first Gérald Genta’s masterpiece. Universal Genève made a number of models exclusively for Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) to distribute to the crews for the first flight to travel over the geographical North Pole.

To our best knowledge, the Polerouter Day Date was produced in a number of variations. The model was available in three different case shapes and numerous dial configurations. Ref. 872101 was quite unique featuring square case shape and an intriguing bi-tone dial.

This example is preserved in particularly impressive condition. The case is precise, crisp and defined. The bi-tone dial with applied silver indexes and concentric finish is offered in outstanding condition, making the present wristwatch a ‘pièce de choix’ for the Universal Genève connoisseurs.
